Request For Assistance: Information Needed

My daughter and I are looking to make Aliyah. We are specifically interested in the northern areas of Israel. We believe these northern rural mountainous regions to be ideal for a small family such as ours to get away from the congestion of city type communities. Please sespond to my e-mail: thewriterscafe.org@gmail.com

We are currently in Tzfat in will continue to be in Israel until August 23, 2009.

The Writers' Cafe

The Writers' Cafe: "First of all, I am not an economist, a politician, a Wall Street trader, investment banker or any other person who makes or loses money based on what happens in the stock market.

I am just a regular guy who hears some of the news, and reads an article here or there, or catches an occasional sound bite about what our current President is doing to turn around the current economic downturn.

Don’t kid yourself. The factors which are still in play which are tearing the US economy apart is none other then corporate and personal greed. One might theorize that a little bit of greed is a good thing, however in practice, the American way has become “if a little bit is good, then a lot is even better”."

Governors caught in debate over stimulus funds

Governors caught in debate over stimulus funds: "Leaders of most of the 50 states and U.S. territories were attending the three-day winter meeting of the National Governors Association in Washington. The meeting focused on the need for infrastructure improvement, which is expected to absorb much of the stimulus funding directed to states.
Several of the governors were escaping drama in their own states, including California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a Republican who signed the state's overdue budget last week after a bruising battle with lawmakers over how to plug the state's mammoth $41 billion budget hole.
Another was newly minted Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn of Illinois, the former lieutenant governor promoted after his predecessor, Democrat Rod Blagojevich, was impeached and removed for trying to sell Obama's former Senate seat for cash and favors"

Vote Now!

Vote Now!: "The power of many. One person fighting for change is like a butterfly trying to fight a windstorm. But if you get two people together, or 10, or a hundred, and soon you have a group strong enough to stand up to that windstorm. And if you can get thousands or hundreds of thousands of people together, talking about one issue, fighting for change, pretty soon they ARE the windstrom. And the power of the group becomes multiplied, and change is inevitable. The speed of change. In the olden days (again, 10 years ago), an idea or a movement, if it were powerful enough, could spread like wildfire. The movement for change could spread from town to town, city to city, country to country, at a rapid speed. Today, the potential speed of an idea makes wildfire look like molasses on a cold day. Change is no longer measured in years, months, weeks or even days — it’s measured in minutes and seconds. Interaction. While in the olden days (see above), the mass media could reach a wide audience quickly'"
